Hey everyone! Apologies but there will be no ATX Web Show this week. Mostly due to laziness. Also, Tuesday night at #cafebedouins I spent 4 hours making a single button for my personal blog redesign. Needless to say that’s not quite done yet.

Week In Review

Things of note that dropped this week that we’ll probably address on later episodes:

Ruby on Rails 3.0 Prerelease – Personally, when I’m not obsessing about buttons, I’ve been spending my time moving from CakePHP to learning Ruby on Rails. But just when I start learning Rails 2.0, Rails 3.0 comes out. This is just like the time I started learning Rails 1 and 1.2 came out. and when i started learning Rails 1.2 and Rails 2 came out. I’m noticing a trend. We have a sordid past. Good news is, we can all expect Rails 4 to come out the day I launch my first Rails 3 app!

Some dude made a Pure CSS3 AT-AT Walker that is pretty cool. I decided I’m going to out do it and make a Pure CSS 1.0 Death Star that is actually just an animated gif.

Holy Wars abounded this week. HTML5/CSS3 v. Flash. Google v. IE6. Fortran v. Pascal. I’m sure you participated in one of them. I know I did. Hopefully you won the never-ending argument with a really passionate point fo view! Speaking of. Here’s a great article on programmers and personality and why we have all these arguments (thanks @stedman).

Austin Lean Startup Circle met for their first meeting this week. I totally forgot about it. But wish I had gone. It seems like the startup winds are blowing.
